Taken to 'anorac' extremes. I love everything about food; the smells, sights and (of course) taste of a well thought out dish is the simplest but greatest pleasure. The closest we can get to heaven before kicking the bucket.

I love wandering through a wood in the autumn early morning mist and picking out the raspberries and blackcurrants, the sweet deep red and blue lines running between your fingers and down your palms is a fantastically sinful image. I love waking up on a summers morning to the smell of frying bacon wafting across my bed, my mouth wet in anticipation as i rush down the stairs my dressing gown only half on to grab the last couple of rashers. I love the satisfaction I feel after a spending all day on a meal and knowing how beautiful it will taste, not that I get time to do this often, but I think that adds even more to the feeling of success.

I love an awful lot about food. Most of all though, I love the shared experience. Sitting at a table with a bunch of friends or family or even colleagues during my staff meals. We sit an we just enjoy what we're eating. We might sit with our forks hovering in wait for a stray taste of a friends dish, maybe we'll be sitting with glasses poised to taste the wine or sunk as far back into our chair as possible with our jean button open feeling very happy with ourselves (not something I often do in public).

Being from Bucks, the Foodie Guide is the best place to start and a good enough reason for me to start cataloguing my best, and worst, experiences. As they say these days, everybody's a critic . . .
